Established in 1967 as a private enterprise with a primary focus on nuts, Trophy Foods has grown into a prominent player in the North American food industry. Our growth has been achieved through controlled expansion, synergistic diversification and strategic acquisitions. Today, Trophy Foods remains 100% Canadian owned and operated with headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario. We are Canada's largest processor of edible nuts and produce robust product lines in virtually every confectionery and bulk food category. We boast the industry's only national distribution network. Our full-time workforce is over 350+ strong, operating at two sophisticated processing plants and distribution centres in Mississauga, Ontario, and Calgary, Alberta, and sales offices in major cities across Canada. In the province of Quebec Trophy owns a controlling interest in Aliments Lalumière Inc. Founded in 1910, Lalumière is an integral part of business in the province of Quebec, Canada, and has become one of the most important businesses in the processing and distribution of nuts, peanuts, dried fruits and fruit/nut mixes. Its success is apparent by the healthy market share it attains with the major grocery chains, independent grocery stores, major C-stores and wholesale distributors. With a dedicated team of more than 65 employees Aliments Lalumière provides quality and value to ensure the success of all private label and brand name products. Our "Trophy", "Aloha", "Delectables", "Double Delectables", "Salad Sensations", "Dessert Sensations", "Paradise Island" and private label brands have become perennial favourites with Canadian consumers, while making strong in-roads into the United States and select overseas markets in recent years. Consumers readily recognize these brands from strategic exposure at high profile sports and entertainment venues including GM Place in Vancouver, the Saddledome in Calgary, Skyreach in Edmonton, the Skydome and the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. History of Expansion 1967 Trophy Foods commenced business in Canada as a nut processor and supplier in a 5,000 sq.ft rented facility in Rexdale, ON. 1979 The purchase of Gold Cup in Brampton, ON provided Trophy Foods with both facilities and expertise in confectionery production 1987 The acquisition of Pinetree Nuts in Vancouver, BC, and JRI Foods in Mississauga, ON gave Trophy Foods and the country's first national nut and candy distribution network. 1993 The purchase of Jonespac Foods Ltd. of Winnipeg, MB and the acquisition Krispak of Scarborough, ON rounded out our product line. 1995 A 105,000 sq.ft Western Plant and Distribution Centre was built in Calgary, AB. 1997 A 115,000 sq.ft Corporate Headquarters, Eastern Plant and Distribution Centre was built in Mississauga, ON. 2000 The purchase of Imperial Snack Foods reinforced our strength in the nut sector, with the only in-shell-peanut salting capabilities in the country. In addition, the brand acquisition from Evans Food Products brought about the addition of our popular Porky's line of Pork Puff snacks. 2002 Expansion plans are completed at both our Calgary, AB (to 145,000 sq.ft) and Mississauga, ON (to 215,000 sq.ft) facilities to accommodate increased demand. 2004 Controlling interest was purchased in Aliments Lalumière Inc. in Longueuil, QC. This 55,000 square foot processing-distribution facility significantly augments our business in the Quebec market.
